Currently, in Ghana, about 23 large-scale mining companies and over 300 registered small-scale artisanal groups engage in mineral exploration [14,16]. Private individuals, mostly foreigners, own 90% of these companies and 10% free shares or 20% optional offered to the government [ 2 ]
